|Morristown Memorial GPU Parking Structure|
This involved the design of a four-story, 180,600-square-foot parking garage for 562 cars on the existing Morristown campus. The structure was constructed using pre-topped, precast double tee floor construction with precast light walls and shear walls for lateral resistance.
The project was designed to be built in two phases, with the initial phase including only the first two stories. The second phase was also designed by our office and involved two additional stories that were planned for in the original construction.
After the structure was completed, a design was done to add an additional 44,000 square foot fifth story to accommodate another 140 cars. Since the original design did not contemplate this floor, our work included reinforcing the existing building foundations and lateral system for added gravity and seismic loads. This phase three construction was recently completed.
Full controlled inspection services were also provided throughout the cast-in-place concrete placement and precast concrete erection opera-tions.
