"The vast donations from Fair Haven and the surrounding towns, the time spent by my neighbors and the heartfelt gratitude from Sea Bright residents as well as other victims of Sandy was very impressive."
Following the storm, a neighbor of Donna’s in Fair Haven had the idea to set up a clothing and toiletries drive as displaced Sea Bright Residents were coming to Fair Haven to vote. Donna, along with several other neighbors, were very involved in the setup of a "store" that provided clothing, blankets, coats, shoes, toys, baby needs and toiletry items.
The Rumson Fair Haven Girls Field Hockey team assisted, including preparing hundreds of personal and family-sized toiletry kits. Over the course of two or three days, they had the store up and running, as well as an area where FEMA mobilized question-and-answer sessions for residents.
