The College of Mount Saint Vincent, founded in 1847 by the Sisters of Charity, is located on 70 acres on the Hudson River, in New York City. The College is dedicated to academic excellence and encouraging social responsibility, and has an enrollment of approximately 1,200 students who mirror the rich international diversity of the region.

Birdsall Services Group staff provided civil engineering, surveying, and permitting services for a new gymnasium that is approximately 20,000 sf in size and is designed as an extension of the college’s existing athletic facilities. The campus is located in an “area of special concerns” from an environmental perspective for the City of New York. The scope of work included preparing conceptual, design development, and construction drawings and specifications for the proposed athletic center. In addition,  we provided survey base mapping and construction stakeout services for the project.  Our staff also worked closely with the Project Attorney to secure a “Natural Features” approval from the New York City Planning Commission as well as other permits required from the City Agencies.
