Like many residents of North Jersey, Jim and his family were heartbroken when they saw the damage from Hurricane Sandy. Having spent many summers at the beach, there was an emotional pull to see how they could help down south.

Following the storm, the O'Neills set out for Toms River. While Jim drove around, his kids followed the hurricane news online looking for a place to help. They spent the day helping distribute clothes and food at a local church.
