Atlantic City High School

This large new 430,000 square foot high school complex consists of 9 separate 2-story structures with varying footprints. The structural systems used were steel moment frames and/or braced frames founded on concrete pile caps and grade beams over timber piles.

The school features classroom space and a library, cafeteria and theatre. The gymnasium area features a 28-foot clear height to custom steel roof trusses spanning 21 feet between supports and an 84 x 60-foot swimming pool with reinforced concrete bleachers also required long-span strusses over 114 feet long.
